What makes a Princeraft distinctive
from other brands? Well, for starters, 100% of the design
and roughly 90% of the component parts for every Princecraft
happen right in Princeville, Quebec, Canada—our
home town. All design, engineering, upholstery, windshields,
wiring, roto-cast furniture frames, roto-cast livewells,
trailers and virtually every other element of the boat
is produced here--not by the same third party suppliers
every other boat manufacturer uses. After all, could
we expect to build a far better end product, starting
with the exact same materials and components our competition
uses? Never.
Instead, we rely on a tight-knit team of skilled craftsmen
and partner with our own network of local contractors
whose focus is clear: Princecraft. They’re committed
to us and we’re committed to them. Most have grown
right alongside us. Our Research and Development team
works with them as partners—in an environment
that encourages innovation and improvement and enhances
quality control. We believe new ideas can come from
anywhere, at any time—a philosophy that has helped
Princecraft stay on the innovative edge of aluminum
boat design for decades.

Since 1948, Lund has used aluminum because we believe
it is the best boat-building material, bar none. It is
lighter, stronger, easier to drive, easier to tow, more
fuel efficient, better handling, more durable, and it
requires less maintenance. We also double plate our hulls,
but only bow to midship, because we’ve learned that
any more weight will produce a deterioration in performance.
We use rivets because they hold up better than any other
fastening system – just look at any airplane or
18-wheeler for confirmation. And we use I-beams for strength
and stability. There is no stronger structure, and any
argument you hear is camouflage for the fact that I-beam
construction is expensive and no company wants to make
that expenditure if they haven’t already. Lund already
has, and we add to it yearly. We consider it our investment
in your satisfaction.
Lund uses double-riveted construction because it maintains
the inherent strength of aluminum better than any other
conventional connection method. We’re so confident in our double-riveted seams
that we back them with a lifetime warranty.

The Minn Kota electric trolling motor began its life
in 1934 in Fargo, North Dakota. Mr. O.G. Schmidt, inventor
of the trolling motor, was known to be a man of many diverse
ideas. Prior to the trolling motor, Mr. Schmidt invented,
produced and sold a copper soldering torch from his home
in Wheatland, North Dakota. Due to its success, manufacturing
operations were then moved to Fargo. Because of its proximity
to the MINNesota-North DaKOTA border, Mr. Schmidt named
the business The Minn Kota Manufacturing Company.
Although the brand Minn Kota has become synonymous
throughout the world with trolling motors, many other
products have also carried the name. The Minn Kota Manufacturing
Company manufactured utilitarian products such as commercial
vacuum cleaners, rock pickers, and straw choppers. Some
of the earliest Minn Kota trolling motors produced used
Ford Motor Co. Model A starter motors. Unlike today’s
motors, these first units were designed with the motor
out of the water.
During WWII Minn Kota joined the war effort by producing
parts for automatic pilots installed in fighter planes.
In February of 1946, the company moved its operations
to Moorhead, Minnesota. At the Moorhead facility, Minn
Kota was well equipped to manufacture products in-house
from start to finish.
Upon Mr. Schmidt’s death in 1965, Ole Rommesmo
took over Minn Kota Manufacturing Company and concentrated
on recapturing the electric fishing motor business.
In 1969, Johnson Reels of Mankato, Minnesota, purchased
the company. Trolling motors opened a whole new realm
of related product possibilities for Johnson Reels,
already known for its fishing rods, reels and lures.
In 1970, Johnson Reels and Minn Kota trolling motors
were acquired by a subsidiary of Johnson Wax, Johnson
Diversified Inc., known today as Johnson Outdoors Inc.
Minn Kota motor production moved to Mankato, Minnesota
in 1979, where it is still located.
Today, Minn Kota is the unquestioned leader in the
trolling motor industry, enjoying dominant market share
in both bow-mount and transom-mount motors.

It’s all about power…but
there’s
a whole lot more to it than just that...
Our heritage began back in 1948… that’s
when the world was first introduced to Honda.
Of course, what the world didn’t know… was
that the Honda name would soon be one of the most recognizable
around the globe.
Throughout the decades, we’ve continued to design and engineer four-stroke
technology that’s unparalleled.
Our sterling reputation for quality, reliability and
leadership continues even today to be the industry standard.
A standard we keep re-defining year after year.

The success of Mercury Marine has not occurred by chance.
Since the company was founded in 1939, Mercury has consistently
emphasized quality, innovation and reliability. That pledge
remains as strong today as ever. Mercury Marine, a division
of Brunswick Corporation of Lake Forest, Ill, began as
the Kiekhaefer Corporation of Cedarburg, Wis., when Carl
Kiekhaefer and a small but dedicated staff of employees
sought to design and produce the best possible boat engine.
As each goal was accomplished, it was replaced by
more. That
tradition has resulted in a literal embodiment of the
Great American Dream. From a modest and inauspicious
start, Mercury has grown into an industry leader recognized
worldwide for its ability to foresee and fulfill the
needs of its consumers. Its product brands include Mercury
and Mariner outboards, Mercury MerCruiser sterndrives
and inboards, Mercury Racing products, Mercury Precision
Parts and Accessories, Mercury and Typhoon propellers
and Mercury Jet Drives.
Mercury is the world's leading manufacturer of marine
propulsion systems. Since the very beginning, Mercury
has set the standards for the industry. When pending
outboard emission standards challenged the industry,
mercury took the lead in redesigning its product to
reduce emissions and to not only meet, but also exceed
the new standards. The OptiMax outboard engine concept
was created to deliver exceptional performance from
a two-stroke outboard with a completely new technology.
With an average of 45 percent better fuel economy and
smooth, smokeless, misfire-free operation, the OptiMax
models were - and are - the benchmark for new-technology
two-stroke outboards.
